Taking Bubbles to the Next Level

Hunter Valley wine is already special enough. But at voco™ Kirkton Park, we take it to a whole new level as part of our High Tea extravaganza. Filled with mouth-watering decadent treats, light and airy scones piled high with clouds of cream and jam, delicate bite-sized Bellinis, gourmet sandwiches, and of course, an extra special glass of bubbles.

Wandering Free

When staying at voco™ kirkton Park, there are lots of Hunter Valley walks and activities to enjoy. Right on your doorstep, you can take a left turn on Somerset Lane and immediately find yourself wandering beautiful farmland and enjoying country views. Continue southeast until you locate Marrowbone Creek.

Head westward to Pokolbin Mountains Road. A small trail from Tinklers Wines will soon get you to Muggyrang Creek and the larger Foxy Gully. Bring your hiking boots and make the most of it. Western Hunter Valley trails are on higher altitudes, so make sure you’re prepared for steep slopes.

If you continue on Oakey Creek Road and take a left turn on Stevens Road, you’ll get a clear view of Woodward’s Valley View vineyard. Three charming small lakes adorn the fields and a bit farther south along the road, you’ll find the Elbourn Wine winery.

    1. Turning right on McDonalds Road, you’ll soon come across the Pukara Estate Tasting Room on your right. Two more wineries on your left hand, Gundog Estate and Usher Tinkler Wines, are waiting for you to explore them! From there, the Hunter Belle Cheese shop is only a few hundred yards to the west.

McDonalds Road can take you all the way to Pokolbin Hall while still within a few miles of Kirkton Park. Taking a right turn on De Beyers Road to the right will offer a breathtaking view of several small vineyards close to picturesque lakes (e.g. the Hunters Quarter and Cockfighters Ghost wineries).

If you continue north on McDonalds Road, you’ll soon find the Pokolbin Hill Park. Here you can enjoy a family picnic or just relax to the sound of rustling leaves. Middle Creek runs along the park to the south and northeast. From there you can follow its trail, which leads to beautiful small lakes to the east and southwest.
